Invitation to Uniarts Helsinki’s 10th anniversary and Uniarts Fest 22 September

Did you know that our university turns 10 years this year? Kind of unbelievable, don’t you think? Feels like it was just a while ago when Uniarts Helsinki was founded after three strong academies merged into one wonderful university. You can go read the story on our website.
Welcome to the opening of the academic year and Uniarts Fest!
Welcome to Uniarts Helsinki’s birthday party taking place in the lobby of Kookos, the Theatre Academy’s main building, on Friday, 22 September, starting at 14:00.
We will first celebrate the opening of the university’s academic year and the university’s 10th anniversary from 14:00 to 15:30, and after that, it’s time to enjoy the programme for the Uniarts Fest arts festival in the same facilities.
To make sure that you have a good time, we have planned a lot of interesting things to see and hear during the day. We have invited a special guest, Kaisa Rönkkö, who is the new director of the Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike). Besides her speech, we will also hear other interesting speeches during the day.
But no worries, it’s not just speeches coming up! We’re also treated to art, discussions on societal issues and some bubbly to drink. The Kuva/Tila gallery will have extended opening hours and stay open until 20:00 if you want to stop by and attend the BFA Exhibition.
And if you hear the call of the dance floor in the evening, we have reserved Restaurant Tanner (Hämeentie 11) as our afterparty venue from 21:00 onwards. So get ready for some music and dancing there, too! Food can be bought until 22:00. There is no entrance fee for the afterparty.
To make the celebrations special, there will be some giveaway goodies at the info desk. And if you want to purchase a t-shirt or a hoodie with Uniarts Helsinki’s design, you can do so at the event.
