Registration for 7th Folk Music Researchers’ Symposium open until 2 February

The symposium focuses on folk music education and sustainable futures.

The need to create visions is based on, among other things, the UNESCO Framework for Culture and Arts Education (2024), which strongly emphasises the role of arts education in solving sustainability challenges. According to UNESCO, art education, including folk music education, must be built especially on the perspectives of cultural and social sustainability, for which ecological sustainability determines the boundary conditions.

The event will be held partly at Musiikkitalo and partly at the Pohjoinen Rautatiekatu office from Friday to Saturday 27-28 February 2026. Participation is free of charge for Uniarts Helsinki students and staff.

Register by 2 February!
