How to apply or register an event, sign up for an artistic performance examination, or reserve a room

In the Taito channel of the Sibelius Academy, you register for level performances, submit event applications, reserve facilities for recordings and notify the information services about concerts taking place outside the facilities.

The Taito channel is intended for students, staff and alumni.

Students can use the Taito channel to register for matinees, artistic level performances, chamber music performances or postgraduate concerts. In addition, you can submit applications for events, book halls for the purposes of recording, or notify the information services about events to be added to the university’s event calendar

The information services update the event calendar with events organised outside the university’s premises that are part of the Sibelius Academy’s activities but do not require production resources.

You do not need to log in to use the Taito channel. If you have problems registering for a level performance, please contact siba.help.ilmo@uniarts.fi.

Register for joint matinées

The register period for the student matinées at the Helsinki Music Centre in Autumn 2025 starts on Monday, September 8th.

The first matinée is on Tuesday, October 7th at 12 a.m. in Camerata, for which the final sign-up date is Tuesday, September 23rd.

Registration for matinées is done exclusively via the registration form available on the Taito channel. The available matinée dates can be found on the form. Please remember to register at least two weeks before your chosen matinée date. After that you can inquire paivi.koivula@uniarts.fi, if there is still space.

If you need to cancel due to illness, please notify us by email at paivi.koivula@uniarts.fi.

Performers will be informed of their acceptance by email. The final matinée programme is published on the event calendars of the University of the Arts Helsinki and the Helsinki Music Centre approximately 3–5 days before the matinée.

The purpose of the matinées is to provide performance opportunities for students from all departments at the Helsinki Music Centre and to attract new audiences. Additionally, the matinées aim to increase interaction between performers and audiences.

The duration of matinées varies from approximately 1 to 3.5 hours, with up to two short breaks. Each ensemble’s performance time is limited to a maximum of 23 minutes. Performers are mainly selected in order of registration.

Rehearsal time in Camerata is available 1–2 hours before the matinée starts. Rehearsal and performance schedules will be communicated by email.
