New Open University paths: apply for summer 2024 courses by 19 April
Also in the summer, the Uniarts Helsinki’s Open University provides diverse music, visual arts, theatre and dance courses, as well as plenty of entrepreneurship courses and studies in career skills suitable for the arts sector.
In Open University courses, you get to take a peek into higher education studies in the arts, complement your professional competence or do art with the best experts in the field. The application period for the summer 2024 courses is 3–19 April 2024. Please, also check course-specific application periods.
In the summer, you can study curation, drag art, music theatre and career skills. There are also various courses available for singers. General upper secondary students and other secondary students have the opportunity to participate free of charge in some of the Open University courses. Uniarts Helsinki alumni who graduated after 1 August 2021 can supplement their studies free of charge at the Open University.

In connection with registration for summer courses, you can also apply for early music path studies, which, for the second time, are selected from early music courses for the academic year 2024–2025. After completing the path studies, you will be able to proceed directly to the second phase in the application process for the degree programme in early music. In addition to the completed path studies, you must meet the other application criteria.

Oboist Tiina Rajamäki completed courses at the Uniarts Helsinki’s Open University because they wanted to learn more about the performance practices in early music and develop their style-appropriate playing skills. Mezzosoprano Nea Mäkelä took part in the Opera laboratory course at the Open University in summer 2022.
