Performances by Uniarts Helsinki Students at the Vapaan taiteen tila Pop-Up Program Week 28.7.-3.8.2025!

Vapaan taiteen tila is part of the City of Helsinki’s Kallio Summer Streets initiative and will take place from 28 July to 3 August 2025. The stage in Karhupuisto and its surrounding area will come alive with performances by students from Uniarts Helsinki – expect street theatre, dance, and music!
On stage, you’ll witness HUIPPU, a folk music ensemble that performs with wild intensity and youthful energy. The lineup also includes the Raja-Jooseppi Orchestra, known for its original compositions and a standout brass section that gives the 10-member group a near-orchestral sound.
In the street space, you’ll be dazzled by The Moving Chandelier, a sparkling dance piece about presence, absence, and transformation. In stark contrast, Takatalvi – an icy and surreal street theatre performance by Eemeli Väisänen and Inari Kolehmainen – draws inspiration from Tove Jansson’s “The Spring Tune” and Hayao Miyazaki’s Spirited Away.
