Recruitment of the Director of the Open Campus is progressing

The five-year position of Director of the Open Campus was opened for the open call 3.2.2023-24.2.2023. During the application period, 19 applicants applied for the position, of which the recruitment team has invited eight applicants to the next stage. 

During the spring, the recruitment committee will select the top candidates for the final phase of the application process, and their public hearing will be held tentatively on 4.5.2023. The event will be organised as a hybrid event, the details of which will be communicated later. 

In the recruitment process for the director of the open campus, there is a recruitment committee appointed by the rector and its composition is as follows: 

  • Vice Rector for Education Marjo Kaartinen, Chair  
  • Vice Rector for Research Jaana Erkkilä-Hill  
  • Lecturer Emmi Huttunen   
  • Lecturer Anu Koskinen 
  • Senior Planning Officer Mari Karjalainen 
  • External expert member Anna-Maria Vilkuna (Director, RDI, Metropolia) 
  • Sini Kaartinen, student representative, appointed by the Student Union 

In addition, Riikka Mäki-Ontto, Director of HR and Services, acts as an expert member of the committee.

The term of the Director of the Open Campus will begin on 1.6.2023 or by agreement. 

The selection process will follow the recruitment process of vice rectors and deans approved by the Uniarts Helsinki Board.
