Show up and write!  – Writing workshop open for all the Uniarts Helsinki students

Do you have trouble with finding time for writing? Have you been missing peer-support in your writing? Or would you like to explore collective writing? How about ending your work week with writing together?

We invite everyone interested to come write with us on a Friday afternoon once a month. The meetings include optional creative writing exercises aimed at getting the writing started, quiet working time with one’s own text, and some time for discussions at the end. You are free to work on any kind of text that is currently relevant to you.

The meetings are open to everyone (students, teachers, researchers, other personnel). You do not have to join every time, and no prior registration is needed.

However, if you are interested, you may want to drop us an email (aino-kaisa.koistinen@uniarts.fi & freja.backman@uniarts.fi), preferably by February 12, so that we may reach you in case there are any changes in our plans.

The dates for the meetings this spring are:

14.2. Kookos 403 at 14-16

14.3. Kookos 402 at 14-16

4.4.  Kookos 403 at 14-16 (en välttämättä pääse, mutta jos se ei haittaa)

9.5. Kookos 402 at 14-16

The writing sessions provide both the possibility to write at a table as well as the possibility to find another position that might suit you better, on the floor for example.

The sessions are organized by poet-researcher, creative writing instructor Aino-Kaisa Koistinen (Uniarts Research Insitute) and Live Art and Performance Studies lecturer Freja Bäckman (Theatre Academy).

If you have any questions, please be in contact.

Kind regards,

Aino-Kaisa & Freja

The meetings are partly organized by Aino-Kaisa Koistinen’s artistic research project on collective writing
