Sibelius Academy updates its concert programme practices
The Sibelius Academy has introduced new practices regarding the preparation of concert programmes.
From now on, the responsibility of compiling, designing and printing programme booklets will lie with the performer or their team. The Production Services will still design the programmes for opera performances, symphony orchestra concerts and specific concerts with an admission fee, but for other events, programmes are created independently by the performers.
This change results from Uniarts Helsinki’s change negotiations, which require the Sibelius Academy’s Production Services to prepare for reduced workforce in the team.
Printed, digital or spoken presentations of programmes?
The programme can either be printed or fully digital. Alternatively, the programme can be replaced with a spoken introduction, which creates a more intimate and interactive concert experience.
Students and teachers are offered unlimited printing quotas, but to support responsible paper usage, it is best to avoid overprinting the programme booklets. It is also advisable to complete the printing well in advance before the concert day to avoid last-minute rushing.
Support and templates are available
The Sibelius Academy provides performers with templates in Finnish, Swedish and English. The templates make creating the programme easy and effortless. Additionally, the Production Services’ contact persons are available to help the community if any questions arise.
