Student facilities survey gathered important feedback
A facilities survey targeted at the University of the Arts degree students was carried out in May. There were 84 respondents, and the respondents were quite evenly distributed between the two Helsinki campuses. There were also individual respondents from the Kuopio and Seinäjoki campuses.
A separate survey for non-degree students will be carried out in the autumn semester.
Students need comfortable spaces and places to retreat
A questionnaire was used to find out how students use the various facilities on campus and how these facilities should be developed from the students’ point of view.
In their answers, students highlighted the lack of spaces for rest and retreat as well as the many needs related to individual and group work spaces. Additionally, there were many individual comments and suggestions for improvements to specific current facilities.
The results of the survey are being evaluated
The results were discussed in the Student Wellbeing Group in June, and it was agreed that the discussion should continue in the autumn. The aim is to present the results of the survey more widely to the community in the autumn, and to report on the actions that have been and will be taken in response to the feedback.
All respondents deserve a warm thank you for being so active. Their answers will help to better support students’ work and wellbeing.
Finnkino movie tickets were raffled among the respondents. The winners have been notified.
