The Sibelius Violin Competition Seeks Artist Hosts and Offers Complimentary Tickets to String and Piano Students

The XIII International Jean Sibelius Violin Competition, taking place in May, will bring over 40 of the world’s most talented young violinists to Helsinki.

The first round and second round will be held at the R Building’s Concert Hall from May 19 to 21 and May 23 to 25, while the finals will take place at the Helsinki Music Centre Concert Hall from May 27 to 29.

Apply to work as an Artist Host

We are looking for candidates to serve as Artist Hosts of the competition. The applicants are required to be reliable Sibelius Academy violin students who know the competition venues and the city. They will guide, assist and support the competitors throughout the event. Four students will be selected for this task.

As an Artist Host you will be part of the production of one of the world’s most prestigious international music competitions, gaining exclusive behind-the-scenes insight into the competitors’ journey. The task can be credited as part of your studies, with completed hours counting towards study credits (27h/1 ECTS). Additionally, Artist Hosts will receive tickets to the final rounds on their non-working days.
