The Viva Engage platform has now been rolled out to the entire community and added as the top button in Teams

Uniarts Helsinki’s staff and students have started using a new discussion platform, Viva Engage, which is intended for free discussion and advertising.

A discussion platform for the whole community

In May, we announced that our university’s large email lists will be limited to communications related to work and studies. Read the news about Artsi.

To provide the entire community with the opportunity to freely discuss and advertise, we have introduced the Viva Engage discussion platform in Teams, which will be piloted during the 2025–2026 school year. You’ll find Viva Engage Teams as the top button in the left-hand menu. You can also download the Viva Engage app to your phone. You can find it in your phone’s app store. You can also go to Viva Engage using this link.

So, if you want to reach all students and/or employees in the future, post your announcement on the Viva Engage forum. You can think of it as a kind of college bulletin board.

Channels on the discussion platform

All Uniarts Helsinki students and employees have been automatically added to the All Company channel, but you can join other channels yourself if you want to follow the discussions and announcements on them.

Channel names:

  1. All company (hereinafter students and staff)
  2. Pets and nature
  3. Politics and activism
  4. Art and collaboration
  5. Kuva technicians
  6. Marketplace

Edit email notifications in Viva Engage

Viva Engage may automatically send daily digest emails to all employees and students. You can turn off notifications in your Viva Engage settings.

Here’s how:

  1. Go to Viva Engage through Teams. Do not use a browser.
  2. Click the three dots next to your name on the left and select Settings
  3. Go to notifications
  4. Click to turn off daily and/or weekly digest
