The Young Artists of the Summer 2026

The closing date for 2026 Young Artists of the Summer concert applications is Sunday 15 February 2026

The Young Artists of the Summer concert series will take place in August and September 2026. Applications for the concert series are open to Sibelius Academy graduates completing artistic level performance as a part of Master of Music in spring semester 2024 or after that. The applicant must have been graduated as a Master of Music.

The Sibelius Academy will give the selected artists an opportunity to perform, including a concert at the Music Centre or R-building, a production package and concert marketing. The Young Artists concert series is implemented with external funding. The costs of the selected concerts will affect the number of concerts to be held. Approximately 3-5 Young artists of the Summer 2026 concerts will probably be granted. The concert schedule will be finalised after selecting the performers. The Vice Dean will decide the extent of production services provided for concerts.

Among the artists selected for the Young Artists of the Summer series, groups will be chosen to perform in Rome during autumn 2026 and winter 2027. These concerts are organized by the Finnish Institute in Rome. The artistic activities steering group reserves the right to select performers for Rome also from outside the Young Artists of the Summer application process.

As part of the the Young Artists of the Summer series, it is also possible to apply to perform in concerts organized by Sibelius Academy Seinäjoki Unit, in artist collaborations carried out with the Meidän Festivaali, or in concerts held at the Mannerheim Museum.

The renaming of the Young Artists of the Summer series is currently being considered. It is possible that the series will have a different name already for the concerts organized in autumn 2026.

The application must include an audio or video material or a link to the material.

Applications must be submitted via the application form by 15 February 2026 at 24:00.
