Uniarts Helsinki is looking for a conductor for the conferment dinner dance orchestra

Uniarts Helsinki is looking for a motivated student to assemble and conduct a ballroom dance orchestra for the conferment dinner in August 2024.

The role will include:

• Assembling and conducting the dance orchestra (winds, strings etc.)
• Rehearsing and liaising with the band
• Coordinating schedules and rehearsals
• Liaising with the dance director and the conferment dinner team

Schedule:

• Assembling the orchestra in the spring -24
• Necessary rehearsals
• Conferment week in August:
  • general rehearsal at conferment dance rehearsals
  • concert at the dinner on 17 August 2024 (The Old Student House

Fee:

• One-off payment of 1500€ for the whole job including
  • fee for the gignecessary rehearsals + general rehearsal
  • band coordination and communication

We wish that the candidate will have experience working with a dance band and musicians, the ability to assemble and coordinate and work within an agreed schedule. Conferment coordinator will assist with room reservations for rehearsals and provide support as needed.
