University language policy published in Finnish and English

Uniarts Helsinki’s language policy defines how the university promotes multilingualism and language awareness in its operations.

Finnish, Swedish and English are used widely in teaching, communications, and administration. The goal of the language policy is to ensure that all students and staff members can work and partake in university operations in their own languages, thus advancing equality and participation.

In accordance with the language policy, Uniarts Helsinki commits to offer language training to both staff and students. Special attention is given to ensure that international students and staff members have access to necessary support in learning Finnish and Swedish. In addition, the university is constantly improving the staff’s language and communication skills in order to promote interaction in a multilingual and multicultural environment.
