How to register for joint matinées and coffee concerts at Sibelius Academy
Information about Sibelius Academy's joint matinées and coffee concerts.
Register for joint matinées
Registration for matinées is done exclusively via the registration form available on the Taito channel. The available matinée dates can be found on the form. Please remember to register at least two weeks before your chosen matinée date. After that you can inquire paivi.koivula@uniarts.fi, if there is still space.
If you need to cancel due to illness, please notify us by email at paivi.koivula@uniarts.fi.
Performers will be informed of their acceptance by email. The final matinée programme is published on the event calendars of the University of the Arts Helsinki and the Helsinki Music Centre approximately 3–5 days before the matinée.
The purpose of the matinées is to provide performance opportunities for students from all departments at the Helsinki Music Centre and to attract new audiences. Additionally, the matinées aim to increase interaction between performers and audiences.
The duration of matinées varies from approximately 1 to 3.5 hours, with up to two short breaks. Each ensemble’s performance time is limited to a maximum of 23 minutes. Performers are mainly selected in order of registration.
Rehearsal time in Camerata is available 1–2 hours before the matinée starts. Rehearsal and performance schedules will be communicated by email.

- Cleaner’s power sockets (dark grey) may be used, but not the covered sockets inside the walls.

Sibelius Academy coffee concerts at Musiikkitalo
The coffee concert will be held in the Musiikkitalo main foyer café, in the recess between doors 4 and 5. The concert will be acoustic. However, if sound amplification is required, light amplification is possible. A maximum of four inputs/microphones are available. A Musiikkitalo technician will be present. There is a grand piano (442Hz) in the space. Other instruments and amplifiers must be brought in and taken away by the performers themselves.
There will be no production staff present at the concert. At 2:00 p.m., you can introduce yourself and start playing. If there are two performers, agree on the introductions, transitions, and breaks between yourselves. Please take care of the schedule yourselves.
There is no fee for performing. Applications are open until further notice.
