This academic year, the IN.TUNE Alliance is offering a diverse series of open webinars for faculty and students at partner universities that explore topics related to artistic research and supervision. The events are free of charge and include lectures on selected topics as well as discussions among participants. 

Schedule

  • Monday September 28 at 12.00-13.15 CET: Artistic research and research ethics: Supervising within the tension field between the search for artistic knowledge and ethical requirements. Keynote speakers: Ellen Kristine Ugelvik (NMH) and Ivar Grydeland (NMH). Moderator: Sidsel Karlsen (NMH).  
  • Wednesday October 14 at 14.00-15.15 CET: Evaluating Practice: A comparative look at master’s research supervision models. Keynote speaker: Andrew Jonas Wright (HdK) Moderator: Horacio Curti (ESMUC). 
  • Tuesday November 3 at 13.00-14.15 CET: Supervision in times of AI: Keeping up with rapid developments while maintaining high quality. Keynote speaker: Katherine Harrison (Linköping University). Discussant: Karl Straßl (Legal expert at the mdw) Moderator: Isolde Malmberg (MDW) 
  • Thursday December 3 at 15.00-16.15 CET: Doctoral researchers’ experiences of well-being, and how supervisors are involved. Keynote speakers: Tuire Kuusi and Juha Ojala (Uniarts) Moderator: Costin Moisil (UNMB). 
  • Tuesday January 19 at 15-17 CET: On the evaluation of Artistic Research Outcomes / Session 1: Evaluation in practise : Comparing criteria and methods through case studies in artistic research. Moderators: Gabriel Paiuk (KonCon), Gianni Ginesi (ESMUC). 
  • Tuesday March 16 at 15-17 CET: On the evaluation of Artistic Research Outcomes / Session 2: Towards shared evaluation criteria: Developing best practices for assessing situated, processual, and collaborative artistic research. Gabriel Paiuk (KonCon), Gianni Ginesi (ESMUC). 
  • Tuesday March 23 at 15-17 CET: On the creative articulation of Music Theory and Artistic Research: Learning in Practice . Guest speaker: Gabriel Paiuk (KonCon). Respondent: Hild Borchgrevink. Moderator: Srđan Teparić (UAB) 
  • Tuesday May 18 at 15-17 CET: On the evaluation of Artistic Research Outcomes. Session 3. Moderators: Gabriel Paiuk (KonCon), Gianni Ginesi (ESMUC). 

In Spring 2027, there will be one additional webinar. The date and theme will be announced later.  

More information about the guest speakers will be available later. Content is subject to change. 

How to register  

Registration for all webinars is done via the Webropol form. You can register for one or more webinars of your choice. The webinars are intended for faculty and students at the IN.TUNE alliance’s higher education institutions. We will send participation links (Zoom) to registered participants approximately one week before the webinar.   

Organizer: IN.TUNE WP4 “Strengthening our research dimension,” WG1 and WG2. This work package is responsible for developing the alliance’s research collaboration and is led by the University of the Arts.
