Join our international webinar series on artistic research and research supervision!

This academic year, the IN.TUNE Alliance is offering a diverse series of open webinars for faculty and students at partner universities that explore topics related to artistic research and supervision. The events are free of charge and include lectures on selected topics as well as discussions among participants. The webinars are intended for anyone interested in research, as well as those working in the field and students. 

  • Monday September 28 at 12.00 CET: Artistic research and research ethics: Supervising within the tension field between the search for artistic knowledge and ethical requirements. Moderator: Sidsel Karlsen (NMH). 
  • Wednesday October 14 at 14.00 CET: Different modes and levels of working in supervision: Programmes, requirements and practices. Moderator: Horacio Curti (ESMUC). 
  • Tuesday November 3 at 13.00 CET: Supervision in times of AI: Keeping up with rapid developments while maintaining high quality. Keynote speaker: Katherine Harrison (Linköping University). 
  • Thursday December 3 at 15.00 CET: Doctoral researchers’ experiences of well-being, and how supervisors are involved. Moderator: Costin Moisil (UAB). 
  • Tuesday January 19 at 15 CET: Evaluation in practice : Comparing criteria and methods through case studies in artistic research. Moderators: Gabriel Paiuk (KonCon), Gianni Ginesi (ESMUC). 
  • Tuesday March 17 at 15 CET: Towards shared evaluation criteria: Developing best practices for assessing situated, processual, and collaborative artistic research. Moderators: Samuli Korkalainen (Uniarts), Jean-Christophe (CNSMDP) 
  • Tuesday March 23 at 15 CET: On the creative articulation of Music Theory and Artistic Research: Learning in Practice . Moderators: Srđan Teparić (FMU), Ingfrid Nyhus (NMH). Guest speaker: Gabriel Paiuk (KonCon).

HOW TO REGISTER 

Registration for all webinars is done via the Webropol form. You can register for one or more webinars of your choice. The webinars are intended for faculty and students at the IN.TUNE alliance’s higher education institutions. We will send participation links (Zoom) to registered participants approximately one week before the webinar.  

Organizer: IN.TUNE WP4 “Strengthening our research dimension,” WG1 and WG2. This work package is responsible for developing the alliance’s research collaboration and is led by the University of the Arts. 

IN.TUNE – Innovative Universities in Music & Arts in Europe is a European alliance of eight prestigious universities specialising in music and the arts. Through IN.TUNE, the University of the Arts Helsinki can offer international events, study modules and funding opportunities for both staff and students. We compile current opportunities offered to students and staff within the University of the Arts Helsinki’s IN.TUNE alliance in our internal news feed approximately once a month.
