Biting the Hand: Traces of resistance in the Art & Language diaspora book launch and discussion event

Public book launch and discussion event 25.4. at the Academy of Fine Arts.

The book launch of Biting the Hand: Traces of resistance in the Art & Language diaspora takes place on April 25th at the Academy of Fine Arts at 2pm in seminar room 218. Professor of artist pedagogy Magnus Quaife will provide an introduction followed by a discussion with the authors, Prof. Paul Wood and Sezgin Boynik, PhD. The event is open to the public.

Biting the Hand tells the story of a dissident formation of artists active in the UK in the 1970s and 80s. Influenced by Conceptual art, they tried to develop new forms of critical intervention just at the time when post-war social democracy went into crisis and neo-liberalism emerged as the dominant political formation.
