TAITO system

Uniarts Helsinki’s services for artistic activities will introduce the new TAITO system at the beginning of the autumn term. The system has been developed for production planning as well as for collecting and managing information. It supports the development of processes within services for artistic activities and the updating of tools to better meet the current needs of our activities.

Taito channel

The TAITO system includes a section called the Taito channel. In the future, all applications and registrations related to artistic activities will go through the Taito channel for approval, processing and production planning in the TAITO system.

An earlier version of the Taito channel has been in use at the Sibelius Academy for several years. With the transition to the TAITO system, the new Taito channel will now also be introduced at the Theatre Academy and the Academy of Fine Arts. In the future, all forms related to applications and registrations for artistic activities at Uniarts Helsinki will be available through the Taito channel.

The Production Services at the Theatre Academy and the Academy of Fine Arts will provide guidance to their respective user groups during the autumn.

What does the Taito channel mean for users?

The Taito channel is a service channel used across Uniarts Helsinki. Through it, you can submit applications and registrations related to artistic activities and view activities across the university.

When you log in to the Taito channel with your Uniarts Helsinki credentials, a personal view is automatically created for you. You can:

• submit new applications related to artistic activities, in accordance with the practices of your academy
• follow the progress of your applications
• view applications you have previously submitted
• provide additional information if requested
• view upcoming and ongoing events, productions and other activities across Uniarts Helsinki

Information submitted through the Taito channel is directly visible in the TAITO system. This speeds up the processing of applications and reduces duplicate work. At the same time, the progress of applications is more transparent, as you can see their status in your own view.

Implementation and support

User instructions for the system and links to the new forms will be published before the system is launched. Support and guidance will also be available throughout the autumn term via the Uniarts Help portal, under Services for artistic activities.

Uniarts Helsinki has reformed the overall approach to planning, reporting and knowledge-based management of artistic activities by bringing the Taito channel, previously implemented using several different tools, together in one system. The aim of the reform is to clarify working practices, improve the quality and availability of information, and support the planning, monitoring and reporting of artistic activities across the university.

As part of the same initiative, Uniarts Helsinki has also developed a project portfolio that provides a shared view of the university’s development and change projects and supports their planning, prioritisation and monitoring.

Both solutions have been implemented in the Hypergene system, which brings information, processes and reporting together in one environment. This gives users a better overall view of activities and makes information easier to find in one place.
