Extra traffic on Sörnäinen campus due to Academy of Fine Arts admissions 13–17 May

We ask everyone who uses the campus facilities to give students and admission jury members the chance to focus on their work undistracted. If applicants approach you during the week and ask for directions, please tell them to contact the admission info desk in the 2nd floor lobby.

The admission course for the 5.5-year bachelor’s and master’s education in fine arts will be arranged in the Mylly facilities from Monday to Friday 13–17 May (week 19). In addition to the Kuvan Kevät exhibition, the admission course will cause extra traffic during the week, as applicants, the admission jury and admission assistants move between various facilities through the school hallways and lobbies. Some of the teaching and project facilities in Mylly will be used by applicants during the admission course.

Applicants will be assigned personal workstations in teaching and project facilities, and outsiders have no access to these work facilities during the week. Additionally, applicants may use the sculpting yard momentarily. Applicants will not work in the public facilities or other workshops of the academy. During the week, the admission assistants will monitor access to the facilities assigned for the admission course and provide guidance for the applicants.

Applicants arrive in Mylly on Monday, 13 May, at 9 am. After this, they will move into TeaK’s auditorium for a joint start session of the admission week at 9.45. The lobbies of the 1st and 2nd floor will be particularly busy at this time, and it is best to avoid visiting the lobbies during these Monday morning hours, if possible.

When the university staff prepares and clears out the facilities before and after the admission course, there will be some traffic in the general facilities and hallways. Before week 19, university staff will make preparations in the admission facilities from Wed-Fri 8 to 10 May. After the admission course week, applicants will pick up their works from Mylly on Monday, 20 May, between 1pm–2pm. We will clear out and refurnish the facilities on Mon-Tue 20–21 May.

We are sorry for the possible disturbance caused by the admission course in advance.
