On February 15, 2023, Musiikkitalo held a mourning flag in memory of the passing of tuba teacher Petri Keskitalo
Petri Keskitalo started working at the Sibelius Academy in 2003, working as a tuba teacher and responsible teacher of his instrument. In addition to his teaching work, Keskitalo had a long career as the tuba conductor of the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra and played in numerous other ensembles. He was also a prolific composer and arranger.
Keskitalo is remembered as a dedicated and inspiring teacher whose versatile musicianship and expertise have left a lasting mark on Finnish music life.
