Registration for “Musician’s work-life skills” course is now open!

The course S-Y31_24-3004 Musician’s work-life skills includes lectures on various themes related to working life in the music industry, the development of professional skills and building a career. The language of instruction for the lectures is English.

The lectures are given by professionals from the field representing a wide range of music genres from classical to folk music. I will serve as the course coordinator, and the teaching responsibilities are shared with Jussi-Pekka Piirainen, along with guest lecturers from organizations such as Muusikoiden liitto, Gramex, and Teosto. Students from across the Sibelius Academy will participate in the lectures, offering you the opportunity to meet others and share your thoughts on working life as a musician (including topics such as building a career that reflects your own goals) with students from various study programs. The course will be held online. It begins on September 11 and continues weekly until February 12, 2027, following the Sibelius Academy holiday schedule. A more detailed timetable will be published in August.
