Sibelius Academy Vocal Ensemble is looking for new singers
The Sibelius Academy Vocal Ensemble is looking for new singers for the
academic year 2024-2025. The current openings are:
- 1 alto
- 1 bass
- Substitutes for all voice ranges
Tasks
As a singer of the Sibelius Academy Vocal Ensemble, you will participate in all
rehearsals organised by the conducting department for the choral conducting
students and the church music department.
In addition to the rehearsals, you will also participate in class concerts and
masters’ recitals. You will work closely with the choral conducting students, their
professor Nils Schweckendiek and occasionally with guest teachers.

The audition will be held in the Sibelius Academy R-Building on the 30th of
August 2024 from 14-17. You will be sent your audition time a week before the
audition. All the applicants are required to accomplish the following tasks:
- Sing a solo piece (If your piece requires accompaniment, bring the sheet
notes with you). - Quick study piece sent to you 24 hours before your audition.
- Short interview.
