It’s time to update Uniarts Helsinki’s strategy so that it responds to the new challenges and possibilities that the university will face.
Will art still retain its place in our future society? What ideas do we have about the significance of art today and tomorrow? Why do we need artists and art professionals?
What is the position of our research as part of politics that emphasise economic growth and innovations? Is it sustainable to train more and more artists to a world where finding employment is increasingly more uncertain?
The university will kick off its autumn 2026 strategy work by organising a joint strategy afternoon for the whole community on 20 August in the R Building in Töölö. The time and place to make an impact on our shared future is here and now – we wish you warm welcome to join the event to hear about our strategy work and voice your own opinions on it.
During the afternoon, we will present Uniarts Helsinki’s newly formulated vision, discuss changes that are ongoing in our operating environment and reflect on the questions that our new strategy should answer. The programme for the event includes presentations, discussions, collaborative work and an art intervention. The ideas that will be shared during the day will form an important basis for our strategy preparation. Before the event, participants are welcome to join a lunch at 11:30–13:00.
Simultaneous English interpretation will be provided live via Zoom. Attendees are kindly requested to bring a mobile device and headphones to access the translation stream.
