Art Jam Weekend

October 9 – 11, 2026

What’s it about?
Art Jam is a weekend-long experimentation workshop where students and alumni from different artistic disciplines get to play with and try out new technology from the perspective of their own art form – no prior expertise or technical background required. You don’t need to bring any special technological know-how: curiosity and a willingness to experiment are enough.

Over the weekend you’ll get to explore things like motion capture, VR worlds, games, and other interactive technologies – and think about how they might serve your own art form.

The goal isn’t to produce a finished work or a result that measures skill, but to spark inspiration and creativity.

Keep it simple – let’s experiment simply and have fun!

Schedule
Friday, Oct 9th at 5pm: joint kick-off at the lighting studio at TeaK (Haapaniemenkatu 6)
Saturday Oct 10th: spaces available for working from 6 AM to 11 PM.
Sunday Oct 11th: joint wrap-up in the afternoon.

Who’s it for?
Art Jam is open to practitioners from all artistic disciplines, regardless of background. The event aims to attract as diverse a range of participants as possible – not just those already interested in technology.

If desired, study credits can be arranged within one’s own degree program.

Primary language during the weekend is English.

To help us prepare well for the weekend, please tell us when you register:

•your artistic discipline and practise
•your experience working with technology. No prior skills/experience needed!
•any particular areas of interest

If interest is high, participants will be selected in the order they register. The event also has a minimum number of participants required for it to take place.

Organizers

TeaK’s Art Jam is being planned and hosted by Vesa Raudasoja and Kalle Rasinkangas. Vesa is a founding member of Finnish Game Jam association and an active organizer of game jam events.

Kalle is a media artist currently working as a developer of interactive performances for the Finnish National Opera and Ballet, as well as a visiting teacher in the lighting and sound design programs.
