Orientation for new students 2024: Uniarts Helsinki as a learning environment
Students complete orientation studies right at the beginning of studies.
‘Uniarts Helsinki as a learning environment’ is a compulsory study unit in bachelor’s studies. Master’s students can choose to complete the study unit on a voluntary basis.
The Academy of Fine Arts organises a separate mandatory orientation period for new master’s students at the start of studies at the beginning of each spring term.
Content and learning outcomes of the study unit
The study unit Uniarts Helsinki as a learning environment (2 cr) consists of the following:
- An online course that you complete independently on Moodle
- Orientation Days organised on the Töölö campus for all new students of Uniarts Helsinki on 19 August and 7 October 2024
- Orientation programme of your academy and degree programme/department/subject area

Online course on Moodle for all (the student completes on their own time)
The online course content presents topics from the Students’ uniarts website that are important to you especially at the beginning of your studies. Complete the online course independently already before the first joint on-campus days – or at least by 31 October 2024.
