Theatre Academy’s exchange partner institutions

The list includes higher education institutions with which the Theatre Academy has an agreement on student exchanges.

Agreements are being renewed during the academic year. This list has been last updated in November 2025.

It may also be possible to conclude a new agreement, especially within the framework of the Erasmus+ programme. If you are interested in an exchange at an institution that is not listed, please contact the planning officer for international affairs at teak.international@uniarts.fi.

Find information about the partner schools

Some of the agreements apply to all the programmes in the partner institution, while others only apply to some programmes. As a rule, exchange students are required to speak English, but some universities may require, for example Swedish, German or French skills.

Check the university websites in advance. Find out what they have to offer and what kind of application requirements and instructions they have for incoming exchange students. Tip: you can often easily find information on how to apply for an exchange programme by searching with the university’s name and the words Erasmus and incoming.

Many programmes are small, similar to the Theatre Academy, and not everyone will accept exchange students every year or every academic term. In other words, it is a good idea to ask each university in advance whether they will open an application for the next season and which of their study programmes will accept applications.

The United Kingdom and USA

Theatre Academy currently does not have any student exchange partner institutions in the United States or the United Kingdom, as neither is part of the Erasmus programme.

Establishing a bilateral exchange agreement with universities outside the Erasmus programme requires a commitment from the degree programme and faculty members to become familiar with the new partner. Drafting a new agreement typically takes 1–2 years.
