Booking of facilities at the Theatre Academy
Information on how to book facilities as a Theatre Academy student and which facilities are available for booking.
As an attending student of the Theatre Academy, you have the right to use the classrooms of the Kookos building for independent work when they are not used for anything else. Check the reservation schedule and book rooms in the Peppi system.
The facilities in Mylly on the Sörnäinen campus can be booked by Academy of Fine Arts students and also Theatre Academy students who study lighting design, sound design or design for the performing arts. Mylly facilities can be booked for study-related use according to the room-specific booking guidelines.
You can use the facilities at the Theatre Academy’s Kookos building only during the building’s opening hours. You can find video tutorials for making reservations in the Peppi front page for reservations.
Opening hours and keys
The facilities team is in charge the management of keys and providing related guidance. Students’ and staff’s keys are in use during the Theatre Academy’s opening hours:
- Mon-Fri at 8–22
- Sat at 10-18
- Sun at 10-17.
The keys stop working half an hour before the building is closed.
Use of facilities at the Theatre Academy
You can use the facilities only for studying, research and related artistic activities. Using the facilities for other purposes without an agreement signed with the university is forbidden.
You must leave the room that you booked in the same condition that it was before your use. You must organise and tidy up the space within the reserved time.
Who can use the facilities?
Only degree students who have registered for attendance for the academic term have the right to use the facilities.
Equipment and floor plans
Lists of technical equipment and floor plans for the performance and rehearsal rooms at the Theatre Academy can be found on the Uniarts website.
Booking of facilities
All room reservations are made in the Peppi system. As a student, you have the right to book facilities for your work in facilities that are available using the Peppi system.
You must check the more detailed room-specific guidelines concerning the right to use and book facilities from Peppi when you book the room. The policies are different for each type of room. The differences in students’ booking roles are provided in the room description in Peppi.
Check the room status and make the reservation in Tuudo or Peppi or by following the instructions given in the description of the room. You can find video tutorials for making reservations in the Peppi front page for reservations.
- An example on restrictions concerning booking rights: Students can book a classroom max. five days in advance: the booking window opens in Peppi every day at 12:00 (noon). For example, on Monday at 12:00 (noon), you can book facilities for Friday, but not for later days.
Follow the restrictions that apply to your booking role even when the system gives you more extensive booking rights. If you do not follow the restrictions, you risk losing your booking rights.
Each person booking a room must cancel reservations that they cannot use via the booking system at least 15 minutes before the start of the reservation. Deleting a reservation after this is forbidden. You cannot reschedule your reservation or give it to some other student.
