Change of subject area in the Academy of Fine Arts

Subject areas

In the Degree Programme in Fine Arts each student has a subject area which can be either painting, printmaking, time and space arts, or sculpting. Bachelor students choose their subject area after the completion of the study unit Introduction to subject areas during their first semester. Master students choose their subject area when applying to study in the Academy of Fine Arts.

How to change your subject area

The subject are can however be changed later during studies. If you wish to change your subject area you are first required to come to an agreement on the change with the persons-in-charge of both your current and new subject area and then fill the form below:

The change can be made only in exceptional cases after the first academic term of master’s studies. The decision on such a change is made by the person-in-charge of the student’s potential new degree programme.
