Call for presentations: SibA Research Days 2024 – Society and Research in Dialogue

SibA Research Days 2024 is organised on 14 and 15 March 2024 in Black Box, Helsinki Music Centre

We invite presentation proposals for the 2024 SibA Research Days on the theme of Society and Research in Dialogue.

The theme refers to the relationship and dialogue between art, research, and society, seen from a broad perspective. We consider for example questions like: What types of dialogue do we create and enable through our artistic or scientific research with our audiences, readers, colleagues, and society at large? How can we improve this dialogue? And what challenges do we face in doing so?

We encourage research presentations that explore the dialogue from diverse viewpoints. Other art-related presentation proposals, however, are also welcome. The language of the seminar is English so both proposals and presentations should be in English.

In addition to the research presentations, the seminar programme will include keynote presentations, expert panels, and a special networking visit. 

The seminar is open for doctoral researchers, research staff, teaching staff, and students of the Sibelius Academy and other academies of Uniarts Helsinki, as well as for researchers and practitioners from outside Uniarts Helsinki interested in the theme.

There are three presentation categories for this CFP:

  1. Long presentation (15 minutes, followed by questions)
  2. Lecture-recital (25 minutes for the presentation and performance, followed by questions)
  3. Short presentation (5 minutes, followed by questions)

The format and style of the three presentation categories is free, and creative proposals are welcome.

  7. Short presenter bio (200 words max)
  8. List of required equipment 

Notifications of acceptance and SibA Reseach Days registration will take place at the end of January. 

The final programme will be announced in February.
