The academic year began with a joint orientation day for new students
On Monday 19 August, there was an enthusiastic buzz in the R-building on the Töölö campus when almost 300 new students gathered to start the new academic year with a common orientation. For the first time in the history of Uniarts Helsinki, orientation was organised completely common to all new students.
Orientation day programme includes getting to know the university and your fellow students
The orientation began with a greeting from Rector Kaarlo Hildén and an overview of the university’s values. During the day, new students were able to familiarise themselves with, among other things, the activities of academies and the Student union, as well as the university’s ethical principles. In addition, the tutors introduced themselves to the new students. The day ended with a picnic organised by the Student Union.
The next joint contact day will be held at R House on 7 October 2024, when students will be introduced to the Open Campus, Wellbeing Services and UniSport. In addition, students are informed about the student’s opportunities to influence. There will also be spending time together and getting to know other students.
