Uniarts Helsinki participates in the Finnish Lung Health Association’s TuoksutON campaign, 5–11 May 2026
Scents affect every one of us. They delight us, annoy us, and evoke many memories. Uniarts Helsinki is participating in the Finnish Lung Health Association’s TuoksutON (Fragrance-Free) campaign, which encourages people to reflect on their own relationship with different scents and their use.
We do not always stop to think about how much we breathe in and use artificial fragrances during the day. Your sense of smell may have become accustomed to your favorite products, and the amounts used may gradually increase. We forget that artificial fragrances can also have negative effects on the people around us. Artificial fragrances and their combinations make breathing more difficult and increase irritation symptoms in around 10–40% of people.
Choose your own TuoksutON pledge
In honor of the theme week, we want to encourage everyone at Uniarts Helsinki to choose a personal pledge related to the theme:
- I enjoy scents that I like and make space for the natural scents around me.
- I pay attention to the artificial fragrances I use and to their combined amount.
- I choose fragrance-free options more often in consumer products.
- I do not smoke.
- I favor service providers who are committed to reducing artificial fragrances.
- I share the message on social media using the hashtags #tuoksutON #suosikkituoksu
