Special price tickets to organist David Briggs’ improvisation concert at the Helsinki Music Centre 6 January
David Briggs presents the silent film The Phantom of the Opera with the new organ of the Concert Hall of the Music Centre on 6 January 2024 at 12:00.
There are 50 special priced tickets reserved for Uniarts Helsinki students and staff. The ticket price is 17 €. The ticket can be redeemed either from Ticketmaster’s online store (Ticketmaster fees will be added to the price) or from the Helsinki Music Centre ticket office with the code SIBA.
About the concert
The New York Times has said that “Briggs is one of the finest organists and especially good at arranging for his instrument.” Briggs continues his streak of international greats. His specialties include adaptations of Mahler’s great symphonies and film accompaniments. He has accompanied The Phantom of the Opera more than 200 times around the world. The concert brings us closer to the American tradition, where the organist accompanied film performances on a special theatrical organ. The concert is a great destination for the whole family.
The duration of the concert is approximately 1.5 hours. There is no intermission in the concert.
