Orientation studies at the Academy of Fine Arts for MA students

Orientation studies (2 cr) are a mandatory part of core studies for a master’s degree, and they have to be completed right in the beginning of the studies.

The purpose of orientation is to provide new students with tools that they need in their studies at the Academy of Fine Arts and to introduce them to the university community.

The orientation will be organised in week 2 (9.-13.1.2023).

Orientation starts on 9 January 2023

The orientation studies for all new Academy of Fine Arts students start on Monday, 9 January 2023.

Programme for the orientation

For the students in the master’s programme in Fine Arts the orientation lasts from Monday to Friday. Students in the Praxis master’s programme will take part in the orientation on Monday, Tuesday and Friday.

The orientation will take place at the Sörnäinen Campus. The orientation is organized in two languages, Finnish and English. If you can’t make it to Finland before the orientation starts, or you get ill, there’s a possibility to attend the English orientation via Zoom (on Monday and Tuesday).

We hope that you can come and get to know the academy’s facilities and other new students in person.
