M-building’s Agora renewed to meet communal and students’ needs
Last year, the Töölö Campus Development Group decided to renew Agora to better meet the needs of the people. A separate design group was established. The students in the group in particular felt that the space needed more comfortable furniture and better quality table groups for working and dining. The group also wanted to make the space more welcoming for all.
It was accepted that along with the new furniture the nature of the space would change, and that this could affect organization of events. However, the furniture was chosen to accommodate different types of events: the furniture can be moved on wheels and the space is adaptable.
In the new Agora, you will now find five height-adjustable table groups with ergonomic chairs, six sheltered armchairs with coffee tables, and quirky lamps. The old sofas left in the space will receive wheels, so that they too can be moved around more easily in the future.
One should take the new furniture into account when planning future events. If you do need additional chairs or tables for your event, they will still be available.
As part of the development work, there is also a coffee machine in the space, where you can get a hot beverage for a small fee. Welcome to the new Agora to meet staff and students!
