Programme for the orientation
The programmes and schedules for orientation periods are department-specific, and they will be updated on the website by 30 June 2023.
- The orientation periods of departments that are based in Helsinki will take place between 16 August and 1 September. The start date of the orientation varies from one department to another.
- The orientation period of the Kuopio Unit starts on 23 August.

University campus
The orientation period in Helsinki takes place mainly in the University of the Arts’ Töölö campus. The locations are
- Music Centre (Musiikkitalo), Töölönlahdenkatu 16, Helsinki
- N building (N-talo), Nervanderinkatu 13, Helsinki
- R building (R-talo), Pohjoinen Rautatiekatu 9, Helsinki

Info desk is open on the following times:
- Thursday 17 August 10:00-12:00 N-building, 2nd floor office
- Monday 21 August 11-13 M-building info desk
- Wednesday 23 August 11-13 M-building info desk

From the info desk you can get help for your general questions concerning starting your studies. You will get more specific study guidance and counselling from the study coordinator of your own department during your department’s orientation period. Orientation at the Junior Academy
New students of the Junior Academy will receive their orientation programme by email in August from the Junior Academy’s planning officer (peppiina.kaperi@uniarts.fi).
Orientation for exchange students
Exchange students receive their orientation programme by email from the International Affairs team: siba.international@uniarts.fi.
